Mysterium

It’s almost Halloween, so it’s time for a spooky game! Mysterium is a cooperative board game where players take on the roles of psychics attempting to solve a murder mystery. One player, acting as the ghost, communicates with the others through visions. These visions are represented by abstract picture cards. If the psychics correctly interpret the clues, then they can identify the murderer, location, and the murder weapon.

Initially, the ghost distributes vision cards to each psychic, indicating their suspects, places, and items. Afterward, the psychics discuss and guess which clue fits them best. If they are correct, they proceed to the next stage. However, if they guess wrong, they receive additional visions in the following rounds.

Players must solve their personal mysteries first, then collaborate to deduce the true culprit. Correspondingly, the ghost can only communicate through images, making it difficult yet rewarding when psychics manage to interpret them correctly.

As the game progresses, the tension rises. After all, players have a limited number of rounds to solve the mystery. All in all, teamwork and intuition are critical. Not only must players cooperate closely, but they must also pay attention to subtle visual hints.

Eventually, when all psychics have solved their individual mysteries, they must collectively identify the real solution. As a result, this final deduction either leads to victory or defeat in Mysterium. In this episode Megan, David, and Todd are attuned to one another. Mostly. Give us a listen!
